Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using VaultGuard ("the Service"), operated by VaultGuard ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms apply to the website at vaultguard.sh, the VaultGuard CLI tool, the web dashboard at app.vaultguard.sh, and any associated APIs or services.

Description of Service

VaultGuard is a security scanning platform that analyzes code repositories for leaked secrets, data exposure, insecure API configurations, and other security vulnerabilities. The Service includes:

  • A command-line interface (CLI) tool
  • A web-based dashboard for viewing scan results
  • Automated scanning via repository integrations
  • Remediation guidance for identified issues

Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to scan repositories you do not own or have authorization to scan
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent
  • Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other security measures

Code Access and Privacy

VaultGuard requires read access to your repositories to perform security scans. We commit to the following:

  • No code storage — your source code is scanned in real-time and not persisted. We store only metadata about identified issues (file path, line number, issue type).
  • Read-only access — we never modify your repositories, create branches, or push commits.
  • Minimal permissions — we request only the permissions necessary to perform scans.

Plans and Pricing

VaultGuard offers free and paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly. All paid plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.

Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice. Changes will not affect the current billing period of existing subscribers.

Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account reverts to the Free plan after the billing period ends
  • No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of a month

We offer a full refund within the first 30 days of any paid plan if you are not satisfied. Contact us at support@vaultguard.sh to request a refund.

Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with reasonable advance notice. We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party services, network issues, or circumstances beyond our control.

Enterprise plans include a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with specific uptime guarantees as defined in the Enterprise agreement.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, documentation, and branding, is owned by VaultGuard and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of your code and repositories — we claim no rights to your content.

Limitation of Liability

VaultGuard is a security scanning tool, not a guarantee of security. We do not warrant that the Service will detect all vulnerabilities or that your code will be secure after scanning.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VaultGuard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claims under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or deleting your account through the dashboard.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the website at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which VaultGuard operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction.
